For assignment two in EDEF 3200, we were put into groups and asked to make a presentation about a reading. The reading my group got was on teacher education for social justice. I was the summarizer, so I took what I had read and put it into my own terms that made sense. I learned a lot about developing that sense of social justice in the classroom and how important identity is for teachers perspectives on social justice. I also had the job of creating an art piece. The art piece I made was an identity tree. This tree included a handful of different aspects of identity, including language, fitness, religion, gender, family, friends and beliefs. The identity tree is something I hope to use in my own classroom.
