What makes a good teacher?

This youtube video is a Ted Talk given by Azul Terronez. Azul first discusses the stereotype of what a good teacher is. After showing how silly those stereotypes really are, Azul explains the real true criteria of a good teacher. This criteria is really not to be a teacher at all. To be a good teacher, you must be a learner. As a student and future teacher, this video thrilled me. I have already learned so much from students and children in my life. To be a learner does not mean that I do not know about the topics I teach, but rather I will learn how to teach them, how children develop and grow and how to learn to teach. Teachers are expected to be experts on the topics they are expected to teach, but they are not expected to be experts on life.
